The Invisalign braces consist of a series of 18 to 30
plastic aligners that are custom-made and are similar to mouth guards. These
are made after the orthodontist gets impressions of the teeth and sends them to
the lab. The clear liners are made possible through digital technology. These
are clear and almost invisible and generally fairly comfortable. The only
discomfort that may be experienced is during the time the aligners are put in place.
The aligners are removable and are replaced about once
every two to three weeks. The total number of aligners an individual can wear
during the entire process will depend on the particular case. The aligners are
removable; however, it is important that they are worn consistently for the
dental device to be most effective. Removing them often would also risk
damaging or losing your aligners altogether.
